Creams, Lotions and Sweaty Hands
You may have sweaty hands, or as doctors describe it, palmar hyperhidrosis. We know this is a tough problem to deal with, specially in those awkward moments when you need to shake hands with somebody or use a manual device shared by others. You may think the answer to this problem is in a miraculous cream or lotion, however the truth is not one of these have been prove successful enough.
If you’ve seen pages where they promote these products, ask for information first. The majority of these products are aimed at people that have sweaty hand only in special occasions, and the sweat is not abnormal at all. They won’t work on persons with the hyperhidrosis conditions, since their action is not that strong and are mostly for cosmetic use.
As you can see in our treatments page, there are plenty of options you can take. And well, sadly is not that simple as putting a cream. In fact creams can help trigger sweat much more easily on a sweaty person. You have to keep in mind that treatments depend on the amount of excessive sweating you have. You can go from the use of oral medication or powder, to a surgery procedure called Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy. This involves cutting nerves, and can cause anhidrosis.
As you can see sweaty hands lotions and sweaty hands creams don’t exist yet, and I doubt they’ll exist for a while. However science has always surprised us for good. If you’re disappointed by the lack of creams and lotions, please don’t be. First go see your doctor, and from there you can decide what will work best for you.
